The Lunchroom is a 40-seat restaurant and café within SPACE 519, a concept store in Chicago’s Gold Coast neighborhood, just off of the Magnificent Mile. Featuring an all-day café and weekend brunch, The Lunchroom focuses on vegetable forward, California style cuisine. We place a heavy focus on locally-sourced ingredients, and serve classic staples with a twist. The menu was developed by SPACE 519 co-owner Lance Lawson, drawing from his experiences abroad as well as his love for cooking and entertaining.
An all day-day café with walk up counter, offers local favorite, Metric coffee, and pastries from Evanston bakery, Hewn. In the warmer months, The Lunchroom features a 24-seat sidewalk café.
The Lunchroom’s design aesthetic reflects the same attention to detail as the artfully-curated menu. The space is light and airy with windows and alcoves featuring potted plants and walls draped in Sister Parish wall covering. A custom scalloped green leather banquette and natural maple wood accents lend a layer of warmth throughout the room. Two rustic farm tables placed end to end allow for communal seating for up to 14 guests.
